OUP book cover series design
These covers are based off the Oxford University Press (OUP) series 'A Very Short Introduction'. Being fascinated by the vastness of space, I chose to redesign these three space themed books from the OUP series. My series represents a journey through space from one of the smallest celestial objects (planets) to one of the largest in the universe (black holes). To create the visual idea of overwhelming size of power, I placed each one of these objects at the centre of their covers dominating the page. The use of the silhouettes in front of both the planet and the star represent their difference in scale with the planet being orbited by a small moon, and the star being orbited by a small planet. Other design decisions for these covers include author description (right flap), series description (left flap), and advertising for the rest of the series (left flap). You can also find my proposal for an advertising product sold separately from the book in the form of key chains. This aims to be a fun desirable product that also advertises buying my series.
